13 Weeks

Hi, friends! The past thirteen weeks have been a whirlwind of wonderful, exciting, and at times overwhelming emotion. It's finally sinking in for both Zach and me that this little peanut growing inside of me will actually be coming out to meet us in six months! It's such a beautiful thing. We realize more everyday just how blessed we truly are.

To our sweet baby:
We already love you beyond what you'll ever understand. You are perfect (even if you do make mommy really sick sometimes!) and we are eagerly anticipating the day we get to meet your precious little self.

p.s. Please don't laugh too hard at these pictures...apparently I thought awkward posture would enhance the "bump". Didn't really work out.
How Far Along: 13 weeks
Baby Size: 3 inches long, about 1 ounce
Total Weight Gain: None
Maternity Clothes? Nope
Stretch Marks? Not yet...hoping it stays that way!
Sleep: Like a champ. Never slept so much in my life.
Best moment this week: Finding out it's a boy! Zach has been on cloud nine; I absolutely love seeing him so excited. It's the cutest thing ever.
Miss Anything? Having normal mornings. I'm used to the throwing up by now, but it'll be nice when it goes away.
Movement: Haven't felt anything yet :(
Food Cravings: All kinds of BBQ....pulled pork, brisket, smoked chicken. Oh and pasta! Lots and lots of pasta. I'm wondering if Zach has Italian roots he hasn't told me about...
Anything making you queasy or sick? Unfortunately yes, too many to list. The strangest is probably pizza. The thought of pizza ruins my appetite, which is so weird because I normally love it.
Gender: Boy!
Labor Signs: Not even close
Belly button in or out? Still normal
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! Not moody unless watching Lifetime...but that's typical.
Looking forward to: Z's birthday this Saturday and going home next week for little brother's graduation!

Oh Boy, Oh Boy!

We had a difference in opinion when picking out the first outfit but one thing's for sure....it's a BOY! (he can be a baby of all trades)

Happy Mother's Day to both of our amazing Mommas. We love and miss you every single day. Thank you for the constant love you've showered us with over the years; we are eternally grateful and can't wait 'til you both share that love with Tiny, too.

Lots of Hugs,
Z, B, and Baby Boy Fullwood

DIY Yo Yo Headband

When I was a little girl, my friends and I had a club we called The American Girl's Club. We met weekly and planned all kinds of events and parties (most of which sadly fell through), and even had a tin Garfield jar that housed our spare change dues. We later lost the jar, though I still have my theories that our treasurer ran off with it (just kidding, Whitney!). Anyway, one of our favorite things to make were yo yos. Almost all of our grandmothers sewed and passed along fabric to us, so we put it to good use making these little cuties.
When (the now famous) Nana recently gave me a ton of fabric scraps, I knew I needed to make some yo yos for old time's sake. I can't stop now! They're very easy and once you get going, it's hard to find a stopping point. Hope this tutorial helps any of you that want to whip some up!

You will need: scissors, needle and thread, fabric scraps, and your choice of headband material (I used lace trim and stretchy headbands from Dollar Tree)
Cut your fabric into a circle about twice as big as your intended yo yo. You can use a drinking glass or bowl to trace, or just eyeball it like I lazily do (still works fine!).
Fold under a scant 1/4" along the edge of your circle.
Start stitching from the inside as to hide your knot, and stay close to the folded edge. Use strong thread and make sure it's long enough to go around the full circumference of the circle.
Stitch around the entire circle until you're back to where you started.
Gently pull your stitching thread until the edges gather to the center.
Make sure to flatten your yo yo out as you pull.
Once it's nice and tight, poke your needle through the hole and out the back side of the yo yo.
Cut the thread and secure a knot.
Tah-dah! You're all done with this little guy. Wasn't that a piece of cake?
To attach to a headband, simply stitch each yo yo on to the lace, elastic, etc., being sure to hide your knots.

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend!

Parlor

When I was a little girl, my Nana and Papaw lived in a beautiful Victorian home built in the late 1880s. Visiting our grandparents was like stepping back in time to an era much more formal and yet seemingly simple in all the right ways. Afternoon tea was served in the parlor, a charming white gazebo sat on the front lawn, and the original wood floors told stories with every step, as if aching to share memories of forgotten times. We loved that house and everything in it. When Nana decided to give Zach and I some of her Victorian-style furniture, we couldn't say no. Each piece is something special and has a story to tell.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When Z and I first moved into our house last November, we set into motion plans for a "formal sitting room". Our color choice of green for the walls was surprising to some, but we think the bright color has a fresh feel and keeps the room from being stuffy. We still need drapes, a coffee table, and to arrage the furniture in a more practical way (what you see below was done by Z...I applaud his efforts!), but here's a little sneak peek of what's been done thus far.
(you can find the 'before' pictures here)
The tea cart needs other accessories...the lamp and chest are desperately in need of a new home.
This gorgeous settee belongs to my sister-in-law and brother; we are just housing it while they are in Hawaii. It's such a pretty piece!

A huge thank you to Nana who gave us most of what you see in the room. Also a huge thank you to my sweet husband for allowing pink furniture in our house. You're a keeper, Z!

Hope all you lovely ladies are having a great week!

Tiny

To most of you, this looks like just another sonogram picture. Slightly alien-like and difficult to make out. To us, however, this is our sweet little gift. This is proof that God not only exists, but gives us all hope and promise every single day. We love you, Baby, and can't wait to kiss those chubby little cheeks.

Five Things

drinking grapefruit juice from Nana's china (my favorite) on a sunny afternoon

Confession: For several weeks, brushing my teeth in the morning was a struggle. The nightly routine was still in full effect but the minute my toothbrush entered my mouth the following morning, I was running like a crazy person to the toilet. Zach found this disturbing, and I woke up one morning to this little (misspelled) reminder. Written in my favorite lipstick, nonetheless. I just can't bring myself to Windex it.
New Express flip flops, on sale!
We're enjoying having an excuse to keep ice cream on overload in our freezer (like we needed one before...)

What's making you happy this week?
