33 Weeks

One month until Tiny is full-term! That is so surreal, yet so exciting. Z and I have taken a break from nursery projects for the last few weeks, shifting our focus to soaking up all the date nights and sleeping in we can manage before Little Man's arrival. Apparently full, ten hour nights of sleep will be a thing of the past soon? We kind of forgot about that minute detail when we signed up for this.

To our Baby Boy:
There are so many things we want to tell you already, like how obsessed we are with your tiny little feet that poke at Mommy's belly and how much we love looking at your sweet face via sonogram. It won't be much longer until we can hold you in our arms and whisper all these wonderful things down at you while taking in your eyes and ears and tiny button nose. If heartburn is any indication of how much hair you'll be born with, we're expecting a mini Ace Ventura. We spend a lot of time guessing what color your hair will be, how much you'll weigh, and who you'll look more like, but at the end of the day none of that really matters to us. We are praying like crazy for a healthy, happy Baby Boy and trusting that God is taking good care of you. We love you, Little Man, and can't wait to meet you soon.

How Far Along: 33 weeks, 2 days
Baby Size: 17+ inches, 4-5 lbs.
Total Weight Gain: 20 lbs.
Maternity Clothes? Yes! The black maternity leggings pictured above are sooo comfy. If only this cooler weather would stick around...
Stretch Marks? No new ones to report
Sleep: Sleeping well, just waking up about every 2 hours to tinkle.
Best moment this week: Having a "date afternoon" today with my sweet husband...he took me to my favorite restaurant, Smashburger, then to see Trouble with the Curve. It is such a great movie. Go see it! We also took a nice long walk in the cool air this evening...it was the perfect way to wind down our day.
Miss Anything? Not having back pain. If I sit in one position for 5 minutes or more, it hurts pretty bad. The doctor told me on Thursday that Little Man is pressed right up against my spine, hence the heavy back pain. As long as he's comfy, I can deal :).
Movement: Oh yes..and still getting the hiccups 2-3 times a day.
Food Cravings: chocolate milk, turkey sandwiches
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope! Feeling great.
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: Not yet
Belly button in or out? Somewhere in between
Wedding rings on or off? On & loose
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy and excited
Looking forward to: This may sound a little sappy, but lately I've been looking so forward to seeing Zach as a dad. Every time we talk about Tiny's arrival, he says the most amazing things that melt my heart and increase my anticipation to watch him become a Daddy. On our drive home last night he kept saying, "I just can't wait to teach him things. I want to teach him everything". Baby is one lucky little boy.

Can't wait to read about all of your weekends...hope they were great! Tomorrow is October 1st; can you believe it?! Think I'll go make something pumpkiny to celebrate :).

Maternity Style: Transitioning

officially 33 weeks!
tank:Target, chambray:unknown, shorts:Urban Outfitters, bracelets:Glitter, watch:Kohl's, maple leaf necklace:thrifted, pearl necklace/rings:F21, flats:unknown(gift)

As much as I'd love to brag about cold fronts and getting to bust out boots and sweaters, it's simply not the case in Houston, Texas. I'm sad to report it was a toasty ninety-one degrees here today, not exactly complying with almost-October "should be" weather. Next week it's supposed to get down into the mid-eighties and we will all surely celebrate with bowls of steaming chili and pashmina scarves that aren't really necessary.

As for now, I'm loving these tribal print shorts from Urban Outfitters I picked up on sale last week. They have a super comfy elastic waist, making them the perfect pick for pregnant and non-pregnant ladies alike. I'm always looking for "maternity" items that can be worn post-pregnancy, too. This loose hanging chambray shirt frames the baby bump, my best accessory! Also, it should be noted that I just couldn't get it to button. Seems to be a recurring theme these days.

Are any of you lucky ladies getting to pull out the fall attire yet? What are your chilly weather staples?

Easy Chocolate Fudge Toffee Cookies

Hi friends! Can you believe it's almost October? As the leaves begin to turn and autumn sets in, my oven beckons me to the kitchen and begs to be put to good use. Who can, after all, refuse a friendly, beckoning oven? Naturally, I give in every time.

I've posted cake mix recipes in the past and each has certainly held it's own, but this one has to be my favorite. I typically use a devil's food mix when making chocolate cookies, but this time I branched out and tried a Betty Crocker chocolate fudge mix; best decision I've made all week. They almost have a brownie consistency; imagine biting into a warm, fudgy brownie with crunchy little chunks of Heath Bar. Heaven. Oh, and did I mention there are only 4 ingredients? You really have to whip these up...your tummy (and the people you so lovingly decide to share with) will thank you!

You'll need:
1 Betty Crocker chocolate fudge cake mix
2 eggs
1/3 cup vegetable oil
4 Heath Bars, chopped into tiny pieces

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix first 3 ingredients together. Stir in toffee bits, leaving a small amount aside (about one bar's worth). Spoon 1" balls onto cookie sheet and press remaining Heath bits into the top of each ball. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Enjoy!

Happy baking!

September Birchbox

Hi, ladies! My September Birchbox arrived a couple days ago and after a celebratory dance around the living room, I opened it up and immediately began trying the product samples. This month's box was fabulous! A big, big thank you to my sweet sister-in-law Scarlett for signing me up for a year's worth of Birchboxes! I'm in heaven.

A quick breakdown:
1. twistband hair tie: I love these snag free elastics! They're great for when you're doing laundry or cleaning the house and just need to get your hair out of your face.
2. WEI to Go Sleep Over Kit: I just tried this set earlier and was pretty impressed; it would be perfect for a wedding weekend or girls' trip. First you wash your face with the camellia oil-infused gel cleanser and then apply the moisturizing face tint. I felt so refreshed afterwards! It's like a quick pick-me-up.
3. tili bag: I got a couple of these in my last box, but I'm not complaining that they included one this month. These are awesome for storing essentials while traveling, and are very thick and durable (plus they're cute).

4. Color Club Birchbox Custom Polish: I'm in looooove with this pretty gray polish. It's just the right shade to transition into fall and can be worn all winter, too.
5. kate spade new york Twirl: Favorite thing in the box! I only wish it were the full-size bottle :). I'm seriously putting this perfume on my Christmas list (are you reading this, Z?); it smells heavenly. It has a definite floral scent, which I love.
6. Sedu Anti-Frizz Polishing Treatment with Pure Argan Oil: This serum gives you shiny, soft hair all while protecting your strands from heat styling and UV rays. It's also great because you can apply it to damp or dry hair, though I got better results when applying to my dry hair first thing in the morning.

7. $25 off a Madewell purchase of $75 or more: Have you been to the Madewell website? Oh friends, you really must. I'm absolutely swooning over these calf hair leopard print boots.
8. Birchbox fall lookbook: This fun little book has all kinds of great fall trends to try, including chevron nails and an adorable twist braid tutorial.

Happy Hump Day, y'all! What beauty products are you loving lately?

Football Fun

I'm sure most of you have already picked up on the fact that Zach loves the Texas Aggies. A&M is his alma mater and he pretty much lives for football, so naturally we have season tickets. It's been even more fun the last two years with his little sister Katy in College Station; every Saturday is full of family, football, and food :). Here are a few phone pictures from last weekend in CS!

We hit up a couple storage auctions in the morning with Katy and her boyfriend, Caleb. We didn't buy any units but still had fun!

We ate lunch at a new gourmet burger place, Grub, where Zach got a mac 'n cheese (and bacon) burger.

the group before the game

Tiny's favorite gameday treat, kettle corn

shuttling back after a long, and victorious, game

We are already looking forward to this weekend's game; Z's parents are coming down, too. Isn't fall the best, y'all?!

32 Weeks

I'm really strange about numbers. I set my alarm clock for 8:17am, tell Zach I'll "be there in 9 minutes", and count down the days 'til Christmas starting in July (there are 92, for the record). It's no wonder that I ran around the house squealing like a crazy person on Friday afternoon when I realized that I can count on one hand, ONE HAND!, the weeks we have left until Tiny is full-term. Mind officially blown. Heart officially spilling over.

To our Baby Boy:
We're not exactly sure how much you weigh at this point, but Mommy's back says it's about 38 pounds. You're getting to be such a big boy! Your Dad loves taking you to A&M football games, even if you can only hear the excitement as of now. He thinks he's "training you early"; I'm training you to love hot dogs, popcorn, and Lemon Chills. We can't wait until you're big enough to really take it all in, from outside Momma's tummy. Your sweet little hiccups are a constant reminder of your growing, developing lungs and presence inside of me; it's the best feeling in the world. We love you, Little Man. We can't wait to meet you soon.

How Far Along: 32 weeks, 2 days
Baby Size: 16.7 inches, 3.75+ lbs.
Total Weight Gain: 18-19 lbs.
Maternity Clothes? Yes...still lots of comfy dresses!
Stretch Marks? No new ones to report
Sleep: Sleeping great! Doing lots of reading before bed and it rocks us to sleep.
Best moment this week: Spending time in College Station with Zach's sweet sister where we ate tons of yummy food, went to a couple storage auctions (Z's favorite pastime), and watched the Aggies win big!
Miss Anything? Not having back pain. Not used to this big belly and change in posture!
Movement: Loooots. It's so different now that he's bigger. I can tell where his feet are (up in my ribs usually) and where his little head is, especially since he gets the hiccups a couple times a day. It's almost always right after I eat....SO cute.
Food Cravings: Still loving Pizza Hut personal pan pepperoni pizzas and chocolate milk
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope! Feeling great.
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: Not yet
Belly button in or out? Still an innie, but it looks like a mini volcano. Does that even make sense?
Wedding rings on or off? On & loose
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy unless not fed
Looking forward to: Testing out our new baby monitor, our big gift from Z's parents. Can't wait to see how well we'll be able to spy on our Little Guy! :)

Thank you for keeping up with our Baby progress...your sweet comments always make my day. Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!

This Week...

 (prepare yourself for randomness!)

I picked up two bottles of marble nail polish at Urban Outfitters. Regularly $10, they were on sale for .99 a piece! For that price I had to give them a try. They didn't work as well as some pictures on Pinterest (like here and here), but it was also a lot less work. The effect is subtle but pretty and the polish dried in about a minute. You should definitely grab you a bottle or two!

Baby and I have done tons of reading and cookie-eating. If you are a Jane Austen/Pride & Prejudice fan, you HAVE to read this book! It's an easy read but thoroughly entertaining....all about a modern day woman that steps "back in time" to compete against seven other ladies for their "Mr. Darcy" on a reality TV show. I still lack a couple chapters, but hoping to finish tonight!

Zach found a new method of purse-holding while shopping. I appreciate his efforts.

We made treats to take to Z's little sister in College Station tomorrow...so excited to see her!

I scored this watch at Kohl's today for $6.99...originally $35! 80% off is what I call a good markdown. I've wanted this watch for quite some time, but couldn't bring myself to pay the price. Now, for seven bucks, I have five watches in one :).

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend! We are headed to College Station in the morning for the A&M vs. SC State football game...also hitting up a few storage auctions pre-game. It'll be a dream day for Mr. Fullwood! Happy Friday!

A Few Nursery Projects

We hit the 32 week mark tomorrow, meaning Tiny is only FIVE WEEKS from being full-term! While we are elated and anxious, we also really need to buckle down on getting last minute things done. As the clock keeps ticking, we are trying to finish the nursery before Little Man makes his big debut. Just typing those words gets me all giddy :).

A few weeks ago, I showed you this little piano we found at a local auction. Zach decided Baby needed a place to sit if he intends to channel his inner Mozart, so he whipped up this little wooden bench. Isn't it precious?

From the moment we found out we are having a boy, I knew I wanted to display one of Z's baby outfits in the nursery. I found a shadowbox on sale at Michael's, but the back was black velvet and nothing in the nursery is black. Zach suggested covering it (why didn't I think of that?) so I found some neutral fabric at Jo-Anns and covered up the black. Much better and all ready to hang!

After completing the dresser/changing table (shown here), we knew we wanted something to hang over it that pulled together different colors from the room. Zach got busy on this adorable bear painting; I absolutely love how it turned out and can't wait to hang it over the dresser. He used the same gray as the walls (Valspar Gravity), the same white as the wainscoting, the same bright blue as the dresser, and a darker blue to contrast. You also get a tiny peek at Tiny's crib :).

There's another project Zach finished a couple weeks ago that I'm dying to show you guys, but it definitely deserves it's own post. I promise I'll show it to you all soon!

Happy almost-weekend!!

31 Weeks

The further Tiny and I truck along through this pregnancy, the more acutely aware I am of just how blessed the three of us are. Our Little Man is already loved so much and by so many; our friends and family have truly blown us away with their support and love during this time. We haven't even begun to show our appreciation to the extent in which it's deserved, but I hope if any of you are reading this you will take to heart a very big "thank you" from Z, Baby, and me. An especially big shout-out to Ann Allen, our beloved Fairy Godmother, who has been tediously sewing away on Tiny's bedding for the last several weeks. We are so, so grateful for this labor of love; it honestly brings tears to my eyes. We love you, Mrs. A!

To our Baby Boy:
You are definitely growing and demanding more food from Momma; it thrills us to watch you grow! You really love pizza these days, and the greasier the better. We heard your perfect little heartbeat on Thursday at our doctor's appointment; it's amazing how that rapid pitter-patter puts our minds at ease and makes us feel even closer to you. We look at your ultrasound pictures all the time and dream of what you will look like when we finally get to meet your precious self. We pray daily that you are healthy and strong, and find comfort in knowing that God is taking care of you as His child. We love you more than we will ever, ever be able to show, Little One. Surely, as close as you are to my heart, you can feel it.

How Far Along: 31 weeks, 2 days
Baby Size: 16+ inches, 3.5 lbs.
Total Weight Gain: 17-18 lbs.
Maternity Clothes? Yes...still lots of comfy dresses!
Stretch Marks? No new ones to report
Sleep: Sleeping like a, well, baby.
Best moment this week: Spending time with friends this weekend and enjoying all the rain we've been getting...our yard needed it!
Miss Anything? Not having back pain. My back hurts on and off throughout the day, sometimes bad enough that I have to stop and sit down.
Movement: Still lots! Tiny's a wiggler. Not as many kicks lately and more "swooshes" now that he's getting bigger.
Food Cravings: Pizza Hut personal pan pepperoni pizzas. Hands down most hard-core craving of this entire pregnancy. I'd confess to eating four of them last week, but that'd be embarrassing...so I'll just tell you that I overindulged :).
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope! Feeling great.
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: Not yet
Belly button in or out? Still an innie, trying to become an outie
Wedding rings on or off? On & loose
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy and excited, with a little moodiness thrown in. Sorry Z! I blame it on the achy back and heartburn.
Looking forward to: So many things! We have a lot of really fun plans coming up, but mostly we're just looking forward to meeting our Little Boy. Come on November!

Thanks for reading, friends. Hope you've all had an amazing weekend!

This Week...

....has pretty much been all about food. I can blame it on the whole "eating for two" thing, right? Right?

We had a pizza lunch on the patio of a newly discovered restaurant in Market Street. Love places that sell by the (big) slice!

Tiny and I had a Jelly Belly feast.

I found these super cute loafers on sale at Target for $9.98 (insert immature dancing in the aisle here).

Fall flowers are brightening up our kitchen table.

Baby and I had a quiet, people-watching lunch at Cafe Express....best sweet potato fries on the planet.

Our house got a fall make-over, including this yummy snack mix.

We tried Red Mango for the first time....total yum-fest.

I finally got around to framing the botanical prints we picked up at a gallery in Old Town Spring back in July.

I discovered these bad boys which are every bit as good as they sound. Dangerously so.

I hope this post didn't make you too terribly hungry! Baby and I are off to grab some lunch and hopefully find some curtains for the nursery; we hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
