Lately

We have been so busy the last few weeks; I've hardly sat down, let alone take much time to blog. It feels good to be back! :)
Here's a look at our last week in pictures...

Bear's favorite spot post-nap is snuggled up in our bed, watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

Our good friends Elissa & Jose came to visit last weekend and we had so much fun! We spent Monday morning grabbing brunch and shopping in Market Street, one of our favorite local spots.

note: funny little photo-bomber, bottom left

Bear's a proud member of the Freddy's Cool Kids Club. Shirt was $4.99, and he gets a free custard every time he wears it to Freddy's. We've already way more than gotten our money's worth. :)

The sunsets have been gorgeous the past week. We've had some rainy weather, making the clouds amazing.

These two LOVE Lowe's. Me, not so much. I love to watch them loving it, though.

No shoes, no shorts, no problem!

We'll be spending this weekend by the pool, in the backyard, and getting ready for my family to come visit next week. This time of year is so much fun!

Hope you have a great weekend!
xoxo

Zach's Bday & an Easy DIY Banner

Zach's birthday was Monday and Bear & I tried to make it special in the most low key way possible (per Z's request). He's one of those crazies that doesn't tell a soul at work it's his birthday. Just goes through the entire work day like it's a normal day. Who does that? (I'm one of those crazies that tells everyone it's my birthday)

We celebrated on Sunday with Zach's brother and his family at their community pool. It was so fun! Zach requested a peanut butter rice krispie cake, so that's what he got.

On Monday, Zach came home to crowns, gifts, & a Southern-style home cooked meal. It was a pretty sweet day. We are so lucky to have this man in our lives!

Now for the banner. I'm kind of addicted to hanging banners from our mantel; I jump at the chance to come up with a silly, random theme for decorating.
We have a small basket in our laundry room that collects single socks; does anyone else's dryer eat socks? Anyway, somehow this idea popped into my head (no Pinterest for once!) and we rolled with it. Zach is, after all, one of a kind. And we finally put those lonely, lost-their-match socks to use!

No how-to necessary, just take some jute twine and clothes pins to hang the socks. Then print off a fun saying including "You're one of a kind" and clip it up in the center. Easy peasy!

Happy Hump Day! I'll be back tomorrow with a fun giveaway!

Be Happy.

I have tons of catching up to do in Blog Land; there are so many posts I need to write but things have been busy around here! Bear is 18 months old today (insert tears here) and tomorrow is Z's 31st birthday. Celebration deluxe at the Fullwood's!

Instead of spending an hour uploading & captioning photos, I'm just going to share a quote that seems simple but speaks volumes.

There are so many things in life that can bring us down, but happiness really does lie in our own hands. Let's choose to see the good, to be happy.

Lots of love to you all on this beautiful Sunday.

Rub a Dub Dub

It rained all night last night, which was perfect sleeping weather. Bear must've felt the same because he slept from 9:30pm-10:40am. Talk about a happy Mommy!

We woke up to find several large puddles on our driveway that Bear immediately went for and splashed in. He was quickly stripped down to his muddy diaper, and later brought in for an afternoon bath. All of which he thoroughly enjoyed.

These are the moments I never want to forget. I want to remember every minute of these seemingly routine afternoons that are filled with so much joy from our little boy.

So thankful for the rain and my time with this sweet (rascally) Bear.
Thankful for each of you, too!

Our Favorite Bow Ties on Etsy & a COUPON CODE!

It's safe to say that we I have a bow tie addiction. There's something about that little bow right along the collar line that turns an ordinary outfit into something picture-worthy.

When we discovered Where is Simon on Etsy, we fell in love. Not only are the bow ties great quality, but the patterns and colors are so fresh and eye-catching. Bear has tons of simple shirts that look much cuter with a bow tie attached!

See what I mean?

I'm also a sucker for pretty packaging. Where is Simon items come ready to gift! I'm obsessed with the floral earrings, too.
This is the perfect package for a new mama: 4 bows/bow ties for the baby & a few pairs of pretty earrings for Mom.

Turquoise dahlias? Wearing them every single day. Don't judge.

Here are a few more looks of Bear in his WIS bow ties! We really love this patriotic one that's perfect for Memorial Day & July 4th.

From now until May 31st, Where is Simon is generously offering our readers 10% off your entire purchase with code FULLWOOD10OFF.

Happy shopping!
And happy-almost-weekend!

A Lady's Gift Guide

My sweet mother-in-law's birthday was yesterday (Happy Birthday/Cinco de Mayo, Lisa!) & we always love picking out gifts for her. I find it so much easier to shop for women than men; I just pick out something I would love getting and buy it for the lady I'm shopping for. Easy enough, right? This also makes this post a must-read for my husband. :)

With Mother's Day right around the corner, I thought I'd share some of my go-to gifts for the ladies in my life! I'm very blessed to be surrounded by some amazing women that deserve to be treated to something special.

First up, the card. I'm obsessed with Treat Cards and the beautiful, personalized cards they offer. You can even print them right off your home computer! The designs are beautiful and truly make a keepsake card. If you're looking for a last minute Mother's Day card, go check out treat.!

When I saw this tiny initial necklace on Etsy, I instantly thought of my mother-in-law. She has 6 grandsons and the tiny charms are perfect for a nice big party of initials. :)

These gorgeous rose cookies from SweetLikeaCookie on Etsy make such a yummy, special treat. They're almost too pretty to eat!

These monogrammed wallets are fun, fresh, & modern. The navy is my personal favorite. (hint hint, Zach :) )

The cutest stationary set by Kate Spade for the lady that loves to correspond. And for the lady that just loves pretty things.

This shea butter travel kit is handy for the lady on the go! My sis-in-law swears by these products and I agree; they leave your hands feeling so silky smooth.
What are you getting your Momma for Mother's Day this year? Do you have a favorite gift for ladies?
Do tell!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Happy Cinco de Mayo, amigas!

Hope you had a great day & ate lots of tacos! We had grilled cheese sandwiches for supper, but we still celebrated all day long (despite our very American food). We started the day with a festive playgroup party; we both had fun "playing" with our friends!

Someone wasn't feelin' the 'stache at first...

But soon he got used to it & we had such a fun day! Ole!

Hammock selfie while the boys did yard work this evening. C'est la vie. Wait...that's French.

Loving all of your fun, festive posts today! I live for holidays & reasons to celebrate. Making special memories is my favorite & I hope Bear will someday look back and love (and laugh at) the good times we had.

Hasta luego! :)
