Rub a Dub Dub

It rained all night last night, which was perfect sleeping weather. Bear must've felt the same because he slept from 9:30pm-10:40am. Talk about a happy Mommy!

We woke up to find several large puddles on our driveway that Bear immediately went for and splashed in. He was quickly stripped down to his muddy diaper, and later brought in for an afternoon bath. All of which he thoroughly enjoyed.

These are the moments I never want to forget. I want to remember every minute of these seemingly routine afternoons that are filled with so much joy from our little boy.

So thankful for the rain and my time with this sweet (rascally) Bear.
Thankful for each of you, too!

Our Favorite Bow Ties on Etsy & a COUPON CODE!

It's safe to say that we I have a bow tie addiction. There's something about that little bow right along the collar line that turns an ordinary outfit into something picture-worthy.

When we discovered Where is Simon on Etsy, we fell in love. Not only are the bow ties great quality, but the patterns and colors are so fresh and eye-catching. Bear has tons of simple shirts that look much cuter with a bow tie attached!

See what I mean?

I'm also a sucker for pretty packaging. Where is Simon items come ready to gift! I'm obsessed with the floral earrings, too.
This is the perfect package for a new mama: 4 bows/bow ties for the baby & a few pairs of pretty earrings for Mom.

Turquoise dahlias? Wearing them every single day. Don't judge.

Here are a few more looks of Bear in his WIS bow ties! We really love this patriotic one that's perfect for Memorial Day & July 4th.

From now until May 31st, Where is Simon is generously offering our readers 10% off your entire purchase with code FULLWOOD10OFF.

Happy shopping!
And happy-almost-weekend!

A Lady's Gift Guide

My sweet mother-in-law's birthday was yesterday (Happy Birthday/Cinco de Mayo, Lisa!) & we always love picking out gifts for her. I find it so much easier to shop for women than men; I just pick out something I would love getting and buy it for the lady I'm shopping for. Easy enough, right? This also makes this post a must-read for my husband. :)

With Mother's Day right around the corner, I thought I'd share some of my go-to gifts for the ladies in my life! I'm very blessed to be surrounded by some amazing women that deserve to be treated to something special.

First up, the card. I'm obsessed with Treat Cards and the beautiful, personalized cards they offer. You can even print them right off your home computer! The designs are beautiful and truly make a keepsake card. If you're looking for a last minute Mother's Day card, go check out treat.!

When I saw this tiny initial necklace on Etsy, I instantly thought of my mother-in-law. She has 6 grandsons and the tiny charms are perfect for a nice big party of initials. :)

These gorgeous rose cookies from SweetLikeaCookie on Etsy make such a yummy, special treat. They're almost too pretty to eat!

These monogrammed wallets are fun, fresh, & modern. The navy is my personal favorite. (hint hint, Zach :) )

The cutest stationary set by Kate Spade for the lady that loves to correspond. And for the lady that just loves pretty things.

This shea butter travel kit is handy for the lady on the go! My sis-in-law swears by these products and I agree; they leave your hands feeling so silky smooth.
What are you getting your Momma for Mother's Day this year? Do you have a favorite gift for ladies?
Do tell!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Happy Cinco de Mayo, amigas!

Hope you had a great day & ate lots of tacos! We had grilled cheese sandwiches for supper, but we still celebrated all day long (despite our very American food). We started the day with a festive playgroup party; we both had fun "playing" with our friends!

Someone wasn't feelin' the 'stache at first...

But soon he got used to it & we had such a fun day! Ole!

Hammock selfie while the boys did yard work this evening. C'est la vie. Wait...that's French.

Loving all of your fun, festive posts today! I live for holidays & reasons to celebrate. Making special memories is my favorite & I hope Bear will someday look back and love (and laugh at) the good times we had.

Hasta luego! :)

Cinco de Mayo Sombrero Cookies

Growing up in Texas, Cinco de Mayo has always been celebrated at large. I'm a sucker for any holiday with crazy bright colors & an excuse to eat Lupe Tortilla's! :)

Bear & I are attending a Cinco de Mayo party on Monday and I wanted to throw together a quick treat to take. I've been extremely lazy in the baking department lately, though I blame it on the fact that Bear is always at my heels and I'm so afraid he's going to come in contact with the oven. Anyone else have this fear?

I saw these sombrero cookies & decided to whip up our own version. They are so easy to make & perfectly festive for a Cinco de Mayo celebration!

You'll need:
-sprinkles
-1 can of frosting
-Dots
-store bought cookies (sugar or snickerdoodle probably look best)

Start by emptying a large amount of sprinkles into a plate or dish.

Take your frosting and heat it in the microwave for about 15 seconds. Not too long, as you don't want it too runny to stay on the cookies. You just want it warm enough that it's easy to work with. Put a few spoonfuls in a Ziploc and cut a small hole at the end for piping.

Add a thin line of frosting (this one was a little too thick!) around the edge of the cookie.

Dip the cookie in sprinkles. A sprinkle bath sounds nice, huh?

Add a small dot of frosting in the center of the cookie.

Place a Dot on top and add a few sprinkles in the icing that shows around it.

All done, amigas!

We're ready to fiesta like there's no manana!
Okay, not really. We're going to the beach manana and we're really excited about it. But come Monday, we'll be ready to fiesta!

Have a great weekend! Adios! :)

Lately

Snapshots of our adventures the past week!

Starting May in mint.

Our afternoons are spent with sidewalk chalk.

And taking important calls. (on our stick cell phone)

Afternoon naps have been few and far between, but we enjoy the ones we get.

Someone begs for wagon rides constantly. So that's what someone gets.

The sunsets have been absolutely gorgeous lately. Evening walks around our neighborhood lakes have been the perfect wind-down time for this momma.

Zach took this picture; this is Bear trying to hide so Zach wouldn't see him eating the ducks' bread.

Super Bear!

Suckers & Sugars could be the name of our reality show.

Golf in college vs. golf now. I love it even more now.
(This was also our first family trip to Top Golf! So much fun!)

Hope you're having a wonderful week!

Any Cinco de Mayo plans? Bear and I have a party on Monday; I'm just starting to get outfits in the works :). Can't wait to share with y'all!
