11 Weeks

Height: 25-26 in.
Weight: 15 lb. 2 oz. (on our home scale...likely a little off)

Things to remember:
-You have rolled over from back to side 5-6 times this week!
-You have officially started laughing. It's not an all-out big person laugh, but it's a hearty little baby laugh and it's precious. You mostly laugh when Mommy & Daddy play pat-a-cake with you.
-You have started wearing some 6 month clothes....at 11 weeks. This is crazy, son! Slow down! We're not mad, though; actually we're thrilled that you're growing and thriving.
-You do not like tummy time. Mommy has you doing it multiple times throughout the day and it only lasts for 2-3 minutes each time before you get really upset and want to be rolled over.
-Bathtime is still your favorite! You get a bath every night around 8pm.
-You're sleeping great at night, which makes up for your lack of daytime naps (hoping you start taking some again soon). Mommy feeds you around 11pm and you go to sleep sometime between 11-12pm, then wake up between 4:30-7:30am for a feeding. You go right back to sleep until 10-11am! It's wonderful. You spend those last few hours in bed with Momma and often "dream feed" once or twice, too.
-You have taken a big interest in your activity mat; you love looking up at the lights and kicking the hanging toys. This is great because it gives Mom a chance to do a few things (fold laundry, wash dishes, etc.) during the day!

We are headed home to Sweetwater in the morning and are so excited to see our sweet family and friends. It's a looong drive (will take 7-9 hours depending on how many times we stop to nurse Bear), so say a prayer for us tomorrow, please! Bear's gonna get loved on like no other this weekend; I can't wait to watch his grandparents and great-grandparents see him giggle. They're gonna melt.

Chillin' at the Crib

Zach and I have started introducing toys to Bear, even though he's not too interested just yet. Sunday afternoon we went upstairs to his nursery and played around for a bit, then let him spend some time in his crib (second time ever! still sleeps in the nap nanny in our room at night). Our good friend and "fairy godmother", Ann Allen, made all his bedding and did such an amazing job; we are so ready for our Little Man to spend his nights sleeping away in his comfy crib.

But for now, this is as close to sleeping as it's gonna get...
He's standing already! Just kiddin'. Zach's ninja arm is hidden from view. We're sneaky like that.
First time in his Snug! He loves it and is sitting up in it really well.

One quick story...
Sunday afternoon I put Bear on his activity mat while I did a few dishes (he was still in eyesight, don't worry!). When I came back to pick him up, I was so proud that he had rolled onto his side! He hadn't done that before. Then I looked up at the TV and realized what enticed the roll...he was watching the DCC. Like, really watching. When a commercial came on he completely lost interest, rolled onto his back, and fussed. Like father, like son.

Hope you're having a great week!

Baby Overload

Let's face it...when your baby is just learning to smile, you can't help but snap 8,392 pictures of him. It's pretty much the sweetest thing in the world.

Momma Style: Oh Snap

blouse:Ralph Lauren, skirt:J.Crew, heels/bag:Home Goods, bracelets:Charming Charlie, earrings:Francesca's

Growing up in West Texas, I've always been a fan of pearl snaps. They remind me of high school rodeo dances and the local Dandy Western Wear. Pearl snaps are this Mommy's best friend as they provide quick nursing, even easier than the normal button-down.
This hem length used to scare me, being a measly 5'3 1/2, but as a Mom I embrace knee-length skirts and dresses. Plus Princess Kate rocks a knee-length dress like nobody's business and we all know she can do no fashion wrong. I'm absolutely dying to see how she dresses post-baby; it's bound to be fabulous.

Have a great week, friends!

p.s. Anybody not watching the Super Bowl besides me?
p.p.s. "Oh Snap" isn't referring to the buttons, but rather the spot on my sleeve due to a dirty diaper change three minutes before these pictures were taken. Maybe "Oh Crap" would've been more appropriate.

Momma Style: Makin' Me Blush

top:J.Crew, jeans/belt:F21, shoes:Target, necklace:Charming Charlie, bracelets:Charming Charlie/F21, watch:Kohls

Being a mommy definitely has it's fashion perks and the right to wear comfy, laid back clothing is one of them. You all know by now that I'm obsessed with button-ups because of breastfeeding; they're the most logical choice for tops and luckily are everywhere right now. I've had my eye on this colorblock oxford from J.Crew for awhile and alas, it finally went on sale. Momma's gotta find deals, too.

Are you following the colorblock trend? Any other styles you're loving? Do tell!

Cheers to a beautiful weekend!

Happy Love Month

There's something about having a baby that makes every holiday more special. I carried on about Christmas cheer like Buddy the Elf and started buying Bear's Valentine's gifts on January 3rd. Jumpin' the gun? Nah. Festive, folks, festive. Life is just more fun that way.

Bear wants to wish you all a happy Valentine's Month! He has a little question for you, too...
