Tea Parties Are Not For Bears

Last Wednesday, Bear and I headed to the Crossroads Tea Room in Old Town Spring to celebrate our sweet friend Amy's birthday. Let's just say that it wasn't Bear's cup of tea. Two hours of wrestling him on my lap while he dipped his paws in my teacup and begged for Airheads from the diaper bag and I was ready for a nap myself. The party, however, was absolutely lovely and I'm so thankful Amy invited us. I'm always down for any excuse to wear a big hat and pearls!

Spot Bear's horse, "Uh Oh", amongst all the fine china?

We also had lunch and did some shopping with our friend Nicole last week. Always a treat to see her pretty face!

Still battling this silly summer cold, but it's getting better thanks to these grocery store grabs. Have you had this B&J flavor? If not, please run to your vehicle right now and drive to the closest grocery store. You won't be sorry! It's that good.

Bath time is the best time! He would stay in there for hours.

This face. I can't even.

Is anyone else getting excited for fall? I've started looking only at all things pumpkin spice on Pinterest already....I think I have a problem.

Happy Thursday!

Weekend in Sweetwater

Last Thursday, Bear and I made the 7 1/2 hour drive back to Sweetwater to see family, friends, and celebrate my dear friend Britnee getting married! Bear was honestly an angel on the drive; I never heard a single peep out of him (thanks to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse).

We had so much fun seeing everyone and enjoying Brit's festivities. Bear especially loved being spoiled by his grandparents and playing with his cousins.

Perhaps his cousins didn't enjoy it as much? ;) Kamdon just wanted his hat back!

Beautiful evening on the Fullwood farm.

Every time we go home, I look longingly at my American Girl dolls and seriously contemplate pulling them off the shelf. Yes, I'm 27 years old. Not ashamed at all.

Worth every minute of the 7 1/2 hours to see this.

Little Man had a crazy fever this day and was still all smiles. He's one tough baby Bear! Thankfully it was just teething and he woke up fever-free the next morning.

More cousin fun at DQ!

This momma got a few minutes of R&R by the pool.

Britnee's bridal shower was beautiful! Thank you to the sweet ladies that made this occasion so special.

Bachelorette Party

My parents were kind enough to drive Bear & me back to Houston on Monday, which made the trip about 5,000 times less stressful. Thanks, Mom and Dad! We love y'all and can't wait to see you again soon!

Now we're getting ready for my little brother and his girlfriend to come visit this weekend; we can't wait for a beach trip and lots of good eats!
I'm battling a brutal summer cold that feels like the flu...any tips on remedies? Nothing seems to be helping much so far. Trying to kick it before the weekend!

Happy Hump Day, friends! Hope it's a great one!

Lately

Hi, friends!

Things have been busy lately, per usual, which just means we're having lots of fun! :)
Bear and I are headed "home" to west Texas tomorrow to celebrate my lifelong friend, Britnee, getting married. Showers, bachelorette, and lots of good times to be had! Bear will be spoiled rotten by his grandparents, which he loves.

Last weekend, Zach thought it'd be cute to color all over Bear in markers.

These thighs. I can't even handle them.

Bear and his BFF, Peyton, enjoyed a Freddy's date last Thursday.

They also had a Cheesecake Factory date. Heaven.

Bear destroyed his room on Friday. And Saturday. And Sunday.

But these sweet moments make up for the destruction.

We went to the Tomball Farmer's Market on Saturday and went home with only cupcakes. Not exactly fresh produce...

Sunday was a pool day. Daddy even joined us!

And Sunday night was spent at Chuck E. Cheese, Daddy's favorite place. He loves it even more than Bear.

Bear won't wear the sunglasses he has a home, but he was obsessed with these Dollar Tree shades.

Our sunsets are still gorgeous. One of my favorite things about Houston summers, but I'm still anxious for fall! Bring on the pumpkins and scarves.

Hope you're having a great week! We'll be back soon!

Last (Last) Weekend

Not this past weekend but the weekend before, my sweet parents came to visit Bear us.

We had so much fun being lazy by the pool, eating great food, and of course taking Bear to "ing" (swing). Thank you, Mom and Dad, for such a fun weekend! Please come back soon!

Pictures from the visit...

dinner at our favorite, Cheesecake Factory

My parents watched Bear so I could attend Cris' baby shower for Halle. Can't wait to meet the princess!

Daddy got Sunday morning donuts. Lots and lots of donuts.

Daddy also decided to color in marker all over Bear. Mommy was thrilled.

Elissa came to The Woodlands Friday afternoon which called for a Chipotle date!

My happy place.

Cheers to a fun-filled week and a great start to August!

Happy 28th Birthday, Beanie

Happy Heavenly Birthday, my beautiful friend.

There are so many things I want to say, emotions I wish I could force through my fingers and onto the computer screen. But I just can't. Today is my best friend's 28th birthday, and no doubt there's a big celebration going on in Heaven.

Friday marked 6 months since we lost our precious Brittney, and most of me can't believe it's been that long. The phone call, the shock, the nightmare...it all seems like just a few days ago. But I hold the memories so close, always with me, and God is carrying us through. Until we meet again, my sweet, sweet friend. I love you.

Hoping Heaven has endless chocolate cake. Happy Birthday, Beanie.

Never Want to Forget...

With Bear quickly approaching the big (terrible) two, I'm more emotional than ever about our growing boy.
Each little habit, quirk, and funny thing he does totally melts Zach and I and we wish time would come to a screeching halt. This age (we've said this about every age thus far) really is so much fun.

I never want to forget...

-The belly laughs. And the sweet snorts that come along with it.
-The squeals. I have a feeling he won't be squealing for joy thirty times a day when he's fifteen, so I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
-The "hiding from you even though you can see me" game. Exhibit A:

-The love for Mickey Mouse. It's so innocent and sweet, and has me planning a Disneyland trip already (not for several years, if you're reading this, Zach).
-The obsession with sidewalk chalk. And writing all over everything in general.
-The bath-time standing, splashing, and bubble blowing. He certainly won't do that when he's fifteen. I hope.
-The love for Mommy and Daddy. I hope this never fades, because it's pretty much the best thing in the world.

-The running-everywhere-excitement. Walking just doesn't get there fast enough!
-The swinging addiction. Bear could swing all day, every day. It's kind of his thing. He points at it and says "Ing!" and there we'll be for the next forty-five minutes.

-The thighs. Not quite as juicy as they used to be but still squeezable.

I want to remember so much more, but it'd take all day to write a post on everything I love about our Little Man. Here's to soaking up the next four months of "one" before I officially have to refer to Bear as a toddler. Is this difficult for anyone else? Or am I just a big baby myself?

Sounds like nap-time just ended and I'm off to the swingset. Happy Thursday, friends!
