This Week

Happy Friday, friends!

In pretty much every blog post, I mention how busy we are. Well, not this time! For once we've had a pretty low key week, mostly because Bear and I are both battling nasty colds. Bear did get antibiotic at the doctor today so hopefully he'll be over this in the next couple of days. Fingers crossed, he's been such a little trooper.

I've been bitten by the craft bug as of late; all I seem to want to do is run to Michael's and make something I've spotted on Pinterest the night before. Anyone else having this problem? :)

This is a picture heavy post so I'll hop to it. Hope you've all had a wonderful week!

It all started with "just another mani Monday". Chose the deep purple, in case you were wondering. ;)

Macy's has been having some killer sales that I can't seem to stay away from. Neither can Olaf and Sven (both of them).

When in question on Starbuck's treats, just get two. Have you tried the salted caramel cake pop? It's heavenly.

This little man had a run in with an open drawer one evening, but luckily he's just fine and it's the scratches are almost completely healed.

Because this seems like a great way to watch TV.

Bear and I are excited for our Valentine's Day party next month! So excited that we already whipped up some (very) homemade Valentine's for Bear's friends.

This Charming Charlie trip lasted all of 5 minutes before Bear had his first ever major meltdown over a pink owl-shaped lip balm. That was....fun.

Thursday was rainy & gloomy, so we spent the day inside battling our colds and watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

When you fight your nap all day, you fall asleep at 6pm in Daddy's chair.

Bear and I honestly never have days that we don't leave the house. It's really, really rare for us. So we pulled out all the play-time stops yesterday, including being "tuh-tulls". We rocked our shells alllllll afternoon.

Because Mommy's friends deserve Valentine's, too! Found these yummy candles at Michael's on sale for 60 cents apiece, so I couldn't resist. Told you I've been craft crazy.

Today's #ootd. Obsessed with black and white these days.

Can't even begin to explain how amazing this ice cream is. Truly beyond words. Run, don't walk, to the nearest grocery store.

Bear did so well at his 2 year check-up today; happy to report we have a healthy (big, 35 lb.) boy!

Rub a Dub Dub

It rained all night last night, which was perfect sleeping weather. Bear must've felt the same because he slept from 9:30pm-10:40am. Talk about a happy Mommy!

We woke up to find several large puddles on our driveway that Bear immediately went for and splashed in. He was quickly stripped down to his muddy diaper, and later brought in for an afternoon bath. All of which he thoroughly enjoyed.

These are the moments I never want to forget. I want to remember every minute of these seemingly routine afternoons that are filled with so much joy from our little boy.

So thankful for the rain and my time with this sweet (rascally) Bear.
Thankful for each of you, too!

Easy Summer Wreath

It's been a week since Easter and I just noticed this morning that we still had our Easter egg wreath hanging on the front door. A quick trip to Michael's and $15 worth of supplies later, a summer "wreath" was born. Can you tell we're ready for lemonade stands, swim suits, & barbecues? 'Cause we are!

Simple. Easy. Sweet. Just the way I like a good craft.

As I said before, the supplies cost us $15 because we already had several things needed on hand. I thought it would be a little cheaper, actually, but the silk flowers weren't on sale like I thought. If you find some on sale or have a coupon, you could make this for even less! It also only took me about 10 minutes to make.

You'll need:
-large hanging chalkboard (this one was $5 at Michael's)
-lace or wide ribbon
-silk flowers (8-12 individual flowers)
-hot glue gun/glue
-scissors
-chalk
-tin shears

Start by measuring out your lace or ribbon to be a little longer than the already attached twine. Glue the lace/ribbon on both sides of the twine. Make sure it's nice and secure. This step isn't necessary, but it makes the sign a little prettier :).

Using the tin shears, cut each stem about halfway. Leave enough to lay flat on the back of the sign while gluing, about 3 inches from the flower.

Glue the flowers, one at a time, to the back of the sign using a good amount of hot glue. You'll need to bend the floral stems into a 90 degree angle before gluing so they lay flat on the back of the sign and still face forward on the front. Continuing doing this around the sign until all the major "gaps" are filled and to your own liking. I ended up using 9 flowers.

Write a summery message & ta da! You're all done! A fun, fresh way to greet all who enter.
I can't look at ours without singing "Night Moves". Which doesn't upset me at all.

We're certainly not rushing spring because the past few weeks have been absolutely beautiful in Houston. I just looked so forward to summer every year as a child that I can't seem to shake that laid-back, vacation, late-night-s'mores anticipation. I'm also looking so forward to taking our little Bear to splash in the neighborhood pool!

Are you looking forward to summer, too? 2014 is flying by!
Hope you're having a great weekend!

Lately

We've been pretty busy the last few weeks (as apparent by my lack of blogging) and Bear is growing like a chubby weed. It seems he says a new word (or animal noise) every day! We are loving watching him grow.

Our last couple weeks in pictures...

having fun at a playdate

planning our next vacation

getting his first hair cut...such a big boy!

Not real sure how I feel about these curls being gone :(.

Feeding the bears ducks.

This boy still sleeps best in his car seat. Even though it's beginning to look a bit small...

15 month check-up was a success! 96% in height, 87% in weight, 97% in head circumference. :)

playroom reading

car sleepin'

Freddy's eatin'

aaaand Smashburger eatin'

Fun at Davis' 2nd birthday party!

Where's Bear? Peek-a-boo!

Mommy's little mess-maker. (notice the TP...)

best buddies

Swinging is Bear's new favorite. He can't get enough of it.

Deciding what to order at Freddy's. Mommy and Daddy's new favorite.

Once again, Bear eating the duck's bread. This is a real problem. Every time we toss food to the ducks, Bear has to get his fill as well. We get a good laugh!

Hope you had a great week!

Playroom Peek

I've wanted to do a full playroom post for awhile now but still haven't gotten around to taking "legit" photos. All the pictures below were taken via iPhone and you've likely already seen them on instagram (follow us @brittfullwood). But, we are so grateful to everyone that's contributed their time and talent to this room that we want to go ahead and do a preview post!

It's no secret that I'm obsessed with a navy and lime green color palette. It's become increasingly popular but that's not stopping us from going crazy with it. It's just so perfect for little boys (and girls with a pop of pink)!

Not sure why this picture is so grainy, but you can still see the adorable teepee that my Mom and Nana made; we LOVE it! Zach hung some lanterns from the top and we strung festive Christmas lights that will stay up year round. The toy chest doubles as a puppet theatre, and we scored it for $25 on Craigslist.
The little chairs were painted just this afternoon by Z and I'm obsessed with them. Our good friend, Ann Allen, gave them to Bear and they're perfect for puppet shows!

My mother in law made these precious Pooh paintings and they really complete the room. These are some of our very favorite quotes and hope Bear will appreciate them one day, too :).

The rug came from Ikea and isn't too huge, which we like. It's perfect for a play or game room area. Bear hasn't figured out how to drive cars on it just yet but we have a feeling he'll go crazy with it soon.

Our little rascal has already figured out the whole puppet concept. No fooling Bear!
This picture was taken pre-painted chairs.

Are you curious about the other half of the room?
That side, or corner really, is actually my little office. It's where all the Logs 'n Lace baby goods come to life! I promise to have a more detailed post in a few weeks.

Hope you are having an amazing weekend! Z's family is here and we're excited to meet up with and see everyone.
Sending big hugs and warm weather your way!
