Playroom Peek

I've wanted to do a full playroom post for awhile now but still haven't gotten around to taking "legit" photos. All the pictures below were taken via iPhone and you've likely already seen them on instagram (follow us @brittfullwood). But, we are so grateful to everyone that's contributed their time and talent to this room that we want to go ahead and do a preview post!

It's no secret that I'm obsessed with a navy and lime green color palette. It's become increasingly popular but that's not stopping us from going crazy with it. It's just so perfect for little boys (and girls with a pop of pink)!

Not sure why this picture is so grainy, but you can still see the adorable teepee that my Mom and Nana made; we LOVE it! Zach hung some lanterns from the top and we strung festive Christmas lights that will stay up year round. The toy chest doubles as a puppet theatre, and we scored it for $25 on Craigslist.
The little chairs were painted just this afternoon by Z and I'm obsessed with them. Our good friend, Ann Allen, gave them to Bear and they're perfect for puppet shows!

My mother in law made these precious Pooh paintings and they really complete the room. These are some of our very favorite quotes and hope Bear will appreciate them one day, too :).

The rug came from Ikea and isn't too huge, which we like. It's perfect for a play or game room area. Bear hasn't figured out how to drive cars on it just yet but we have a feeling he'll go crazy with it soon.

Our little rascal has already figured out the whole puppet concept. No fooling Bear!
This picture was taken pre-painted chairs.

Are you curious about the other half of the room?
That side, or corner really, is actually my little office. It's where all the Logs 'n Lace baby goods come to life! I promise to have a more detailed post in a few weeks.

Hope you are having an amazing weekend! Z's family is here and we're excited to meet up with and see everyone.
Sending big hugs and warm weather your way!

Lately (part two)

More instagram photos from the past week...follow @brittfullwood to keep up with us on the daily :).
--------------------------------------

Night walks around the neighborhood lakes are my absolute favorite. It's the only "me" time of my day and while I miss Bear the minute I shut the back door, it's much needed and appreciated (thanks, Z).

We had two birthday parties last Saturday; both happened to be at splash pads and we took full advantage!

Bear's playroom is coming along slowly but surely. This baby boy loves to play!

Sunday mall shopping with Momma is much better with Pinkberry. (better known as PinkBeary in our family)

Dinner at Outback always calls for Chocolate Thunder from Down Under. Yes, we eat our fair share of desserts around here :).

Speaking of desserts, a friend told us that frozen Twizzlers are a teething lifesaver. So far, it's really helped! Bear loves to gnaw on them and they seem to provide some relief for those poor puffy gums.

Favorite polish..."Wild Cactus" by Color Club thanks to Birchbox.

Bear and I got all matchy matchy in nautical stripes for our day with Aunt Beanie on Monday.

Which also called for lunch at Wunsche Bros. in Old Town Spring....and chocolate peanut butter pie. And buttermilk pecan pie. And ice cream. And three (Bear included) very full tummies.

showing off his game day earmuffs

My two best friends from college were in town last night and we hit up our favorite spot, Cheesecake Factory. Elissa (on the right) just got engaged and asked Brittney and me to be maid and matron of honor....we are thrilled! Let the planning begin!

Tomorrow is going to be a busy, but exciting, day. We're headed to College Station early in the morning for Texas A&M's first football game of the season, then rushing back to Houston for the BACKSTREET BOYS CONCERT!! Zach is Bear-sitting and I'm going with four very fun, very enthusiastic, girls. Absolutely cannot wait. T-shirts and signs have been made. We will get backstage.

Hope your Labor Day Weekend is a fabulous one!

Playroom Wish List

Bear's playroom is slowly, but surely, coming along. My goal is to have it finished by the end of September so October & November can be focused entirely on birthday planning. That is such a bittersweet thought! Can't believe our Little Man will be one in November (insert sniffles here).

I still debate constantly on a color scheme, mainly since the playroom also doubles as a workspace for me. My desk, which is in the corner, is black and I reeeeally don't want to paint it. So while I dream of a nautical navy, red, and white color pattern, the lazy devil on my shoulder refuses to paint the black desk and argues that it won't match "nautical". So, we shall see. For now, here are some goodies we will likely be purchasing in the next few weeks :)...forget that silly devil.

Zach has this crazy thought that we will attempt to make the teepee ourselves...so I'll let you all know how that turns out. He also thinks $150 is a little steep for a rocking bear, but they could ask $1,000 and I'd still give in. Pretty sure Bear has to have it.

How do you feel about this color scheme with a black desk in the corner? Too clashy clashy? Or could it work? I trust you girls to give me some guidance! :)

Happy Hump Day!
