What Did Bear Wear? (Round 2)

Thank you for all of the sweet emails and comments after Bear's last "fashion" post ;). We really do have so much fun getting dressed every morning and I love sharing Bear's OOTD's with you all!

I apologize if you follow us on insta because you've already seen all of these; I'm making it a priority to start busting out the actual camera more often like we did when Bear was little. Since getting an iPhone in July (I'm way behind, I know!), it's been so much easier to just snap phone pics. Lazy momma! But shameless mommarazzi nonetheless.

Here are some of Bear's favorite outfits from this week!

beanie/robot sweater: Baby Gap, pants: JCPenney, shoes: Polo Ralph Lauren via Home Goods

shirt: Joe Fresh for JCPenney, cords: Baby Gap, bow tie: Janie & Jack, moccs: Deerie Handmade on Etsy

shirt (onesie, actually): Baby Gap, beanie: gift- unknown (thanks, Mom!), pants: JCPenney, shoes: Baby Gap

shirt/pants/beanie: Baby Gap, paci clip: Mud Pie, moccs: Deerie Handmade via Etsy

shirt: Macy's (gift), bow tie: Target (gift), pants: Target, fox socks/shoes: Baby Gap, hat: Janie & Jack

You may have noticed by now that Bear has a slight obsession with toothbrushes. We have to take at least one wherever we go; he'll carry the same toothbrush around for several hours without ever putting it down. When I brush my teeth in the morning, he pulls on my pant leg and beeeegs for the toothbrush. It's so funny! He has no interest in actually brushing his teeth, he just likes to hold the brush. When he becomes a dentist one day, we'll have lots of pictures to document that he "started out young". :) Here's hoping...I've got lots of cavities.

Hope you have the BEST weekend!

Lately

Since returning home after Christmas, things have been pretty busy as we jumped right back into "city life". We've still taken time to hit up the park (usually multiple times a day), take long walks, and have fun with buddies at our play dates. Life has been extra sweet lately.

This little boy LOVES pizza. He inhales it.

exploring a newfound park with Daddy

Rudy's BBQ, a weekly stop for us

new swimsuits for Hawaii, all on clearance for under $8 at Target

Bear's new backpack! (aka my diaper bag)

We hope you're having a super sweet week, too! Cheers to the almost-weekend!

What Did Bear Wear?

Hi friends! Hope you're having a fabulous weekend!

I'm so excited to start doing weekly "What did Bear wear?" posts; this is something I've wanted to do for quite some time but am just now getting around to it. Fashion has always been a passion of mine and since having Bear, I've fallen in love with styling our little man. His wardrobe isn't the most expensive, or always on trend, but we have fun with it and try picking comfortable items that will survive playing outside (in the dirt), Bear's favorite activity.

It's a challenge finding stylish clothing for boys, but it's so much fun! We love mixing bright prints, pops of color with shoes or a bow tie, and of course the occasional hat to top it off. The trusty toothbrush is always an accessory for Bear, too! :)

Boys often get overlooked in the style department because there are so many adorable clothes for little girls. I never even realized how much fun it is dressing a baby boy until I had Bear. This is because, in my opinion, there's a false idea floating around that unless you have a little girl, you miss out on the fun of dressing your baby up in cute clothes & accessories. Boy-mommas-to-be, this is not so! While I can only imagine how sweet it would be to dress up a baby girl, I have absolutely loved shopping for and decking out our son. Suspenders and loafers and fedoras, oh my!

Enough rambling. Here are some of Bear's outfits from this week!

shirt:Polo Ralph Lauren, suspenders:here, jeans:Levis via Dillards, shoes:Baby Gap, bow tie:Logs 'n Lace, paci clip:Mud Pie

hat:Janie & Jack, shirt:Baby Gap, pants:Old Navy, moccasins:Deerie Handmade on Etsy

anchor beanie:Baby Gap, chambray shirt:Macy's, cords:Baby Gap, sweater:Target, moccasins:Deerie Handmade on Etsy, paci clip:Mud Pie

I also plan on doing a post on our playroom soon; we just need to get a couple last minute projects finished. And pick up the piles of toys all over the room.

Enjoy your Sunday!!

New Kicks

There are so many things I'd love to write about but I'm staring at a stack of 13 Logs 'n Lace packages that need to be addressed and mailed before tomorrow morning (heading to 6 different states! exciiiiting!). So, for now I'll talk shoes. Because that's one of the few things I know.

We may or may not have purchased 5 pairs of shoes in the last 2 days. They were all (minus the rain boots) on sale...so does that justify the craziness just a little bit? You ladies have been there, too. It happens sometimes.

I've wanted rain boots for the longest time, particularly Hunters, but haven't wanted to pay an exorbitant amount for them. Now that we live in Houston, where it rains constantly, they're a necessity. While on a Walmart run this evening, I spotted (pun intended!) these cute leopard rainboots and just couldn't resist. "Walmart?!" you say. That's what I said too.

Bear has needed some new Nikes for awhile. My grandma gave him some for Christmas, but we wanted another pair to add to the collection. Scored these at the Nike outlet today for $19.99! Boom.

And there you have it. Our new shoes.
Z didn't get any. He doesn't care.
It's ALMOST the weekend! Hurry up Friday! :)

Fullwood Family Pictures

Over Thanksgiving break, we surprised Zach's parents with a family photo session. The sweet Lindsey Cotton of Cotton Photography in Abilene took our pictures (in freeeezing cold weather) and Zach's parents, especially his Mom, really loved the gift. We gave them a big canvas for Christmas of the last picture posted below.

Zach has two brothers, who have 5 boys between the both of them, so there are 6 little boys (no girls!) 5 and under running around when we all get together. Pure chaos is putting it lightly :). But we always have fun! Zach's sister, Katy, is in the chevron shirt and the other two young ladies are Zach's brother's wives. I'm blessed with an amazing family. This was such a fun day!

Hope you had a great weekend! We're flipping back and forth between The Bachelor and the National Championship tonight....think Z secretly likes The Bachelor better :).

G'night friends!

New Year, New Mantra

Shirt: Old Navy
Pants: Baby Gap
Moccasins: Deerie Handmade
Toothbrush: Not sure :)

I don't really make New Year's resolutions because, honestly, I forget about them around February 1st. Little things like "eat more fruit" and "clean the windows every week" just fly out the window (pun intended) after awhile. The one resolution I'm going to try sticking to is making healthier meals for our family. The more table food Bear eats, the more important this becomes. Zach and I don't have the best eating habits (we hate 95% of veggies!), so this will be tricky but we're willing to push the limits for our sweet, growing Bear.

Other than that goal, which will hopefully be maintained past February 1st, we are stepping into 2014 with one main word in mind:
Savor.
Not talking about all those wonderful veggies we'll be devouring. I'm talking about the moments, the memories. 2013 was full of precious, fleeting times that I look back on and think, "Why didn't I enjoy that more?" or "Why didn't I put down my cell phone and play with Bear?". It's not that Zach and I weren't present or in the moment, because we were. But I think Bear really notices a difference when we're engaging and are truly focused on the activity at hand and, most importantly, him.

This year, we are going to savor. Every new word spoken, every new game played, every giggle shared, and every morning snuggle will be treasured and embraced. There will be lots of applause, hugs, and cell phones never leaving the pocket. It's okay if every memory isn't documented via Instagram because they'll be documented in our minds and hearts, the places that really matter.

We're going to live it up this year and make every moment count. It's okay, though, if we spend all day Sunday in our jammies. Or forget to wash the windows (for a really, really long time...). As long as our little family is together, 2014 is going to be the best year yet.

A Not-so-Official 13 Month Update

Ridin' in style at Wal Mart this afternoon. The toothbrush goes everywhere we go.

Christmas morning at Grandma Candy and Pops' house...tricycle and a toothbrush! What more could a little Bear need?

I have to admit I'm a little sad the monthly chalkboard updates are a thing of the past. At around 10 months I realized we'd be lucky to make it to the 12 month mark and I don't wanna push our luck. We're just lucky we got the first year documented via chalkboard! I still want to continue monthly updates, just without wrestling my child to sit still in a chair. 'Cause we all know that ain't fun for nobody.

Things Bear Likes:
-Running. He has the cutest little "run"; he has a hop in his step and is so fast! We play chase around the living room/kitchen (his favorite game) and I can barely keep up with him.
-Toothbrushes. See above.
-Toy cars. He doesn't fully get them yet, but he loves to push them around the coffee table and carry them from room to room.
- Being outside. Hurry up please, spring! This cold weather is for the birds, not the Bears.
-Nodding "yes". If you follow me on instagram, you've seen this in action. He can say "no" too, but surprisingly prefers nodding yes.
-Goldfish (the edible kind). These are a new favorite snack!
-People watching. The older Bear gets, the more alert he is; he loves watching other people while we're out running errands/shopping, especially other kids.
-Bath time. This is an obvious one, but it still deserves a mention because he enjoys it so much! His favorite bath toy is "Scuba Steve", a play scuba diver that has wind-up flippers (thanks, Peyton and Tiff!).
-Yo Gabba Gabba. Still Bear's favorite TV show, with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse pulling a close second.
-Grilled cheese sandwiches and mac 'n cheese. Basically anything with cheese.

Things Bear Dislikes:
-Veggies. We're working on this. Any helpful tips?

-Bedtime. This is a struggle every night...but once he's asleep, he's a great sleeper.
-Being held when he wants to walk. Mr. Independent!

--------------------------------------------------

I'm sure I could add dozens more to these lists, especially the "likes", but I start getting too emotional. Our baby is growing into a toddler right before our eyes and sitting down to document it is pretty rough on this sappy Momma. But, each stage truly does just get more and more fun!

Hope you all had a magical New Year's Eve! Happy 2014!
