Post-Maternity Style: The Mommy in Me

It's been eleven days since Mr. Bear was born (STOP flying by, time!) and Zach and I are still hard-core adjusting to our new life as three. Sleep is cause for newfound euphoria and mealtime is completely dependent on when Bear wants to eat, not us. We wouldn't change a thing, though, and are soaking up all the "firsts" we're experiencing daily with our little guy.

My Momma is here helping us out and suggested I do a fashion post. While I still feel pretty run down and recovery has been rough (one word-episiotomy), it does feel pretty good to slip on the skinny jeans again for the first time in months and embrace my inner Mommy. Nursing calls for button-up shirts and I wouldn't dream of wearing heels at this point, so flats are a must. Comfy yet put-together seems to be the way to go for mommyhood....but don't you worry, I'm still spending most days in a track suit :).
 jeans:F21, blouse:J Crew, watch:Kohls, necklace:Anthropologie (gift), flats:Target

I've been a little behind in the world of fashion lately...what styles are you currently loving?

  1. Are you 100% certain that you gave birth to a baby 11 days ago? You look AMAZING! Seriously, you did something sweet in your past life :)

Right now I'm really love faux fur vest (but not sure if I will rock them) and leather pants and boots socks, and skinny jeans tucked into brown riding boots ... yea so things that probably aren't convenient for a new mom. i suck.

  9. No way you just had a baby 11 days ago! My son is a wee bit older than yours, so hooray for both cuddling with chubby little boys :) Parenting is such an adjustment and sacrifice. I learned that with my daughter, and again with my son. But it's obviously worth every hour of sleep deprivation!

  11. You look great! Those pregnancy pounds just melted right off! I'm glad you're still doing your fashion posts because new mommies really need help remembering to take care of ourselves. Thanks for the inspirations. I definitely need nursing friendly shirts. Button downs will be on my to buy list!

  12. Woah mama! You had a baby less than 2 weeks ago?!! You are beautiful as always!! It is hard to believe that just a couple weeks ago you had a 9+ month baby in there! :) I think it's awesome you're doing a fashion post already - it's important for feel good and I imagine after giving birth, it's just the perfect pick-me-up!!
You're in my thoughts and prayers - hope your recovery gets better and better, beautiful mama! Xoxox

  13. Ohhh you look just BEAUTIFUL BRITT. It looks like you lost most of your baby weight for sure. Loving that Emerald Green color on you and I agree nursing calls for high-neck tops that are easy to pull down like cowl-necks & button-downs. Your loafers and necklace are so cute, too. And now I really get to see your Engagement ring too and it is gorgeous!!

Have a Great Weekend with Zach & Bear and hopefully you get to sleep & relax a little. =)
